Issue
- Virus signature database update failed: "An error occurred while downloading update files"
Solution
Send an update task to client workstations in ESET Remote Administrator Web Console
- Open ESET Remote Administrator Web Console (ERA Web Console) in your web browser and log in.
- Click Admin

- Click Virus Signature Database Update, click the existing task named Virus signature database update and then select Edit.

- Expand Target. By default, the task contains a dynamic group that targets computers with outdated Virus signature databases. Click Add Targets to add additional computers and groups.

- Click Add Targets. Select the check box(es) next to the computer(s) or group(s) that are not receiving virus signature database updates in the top and bottom windows and then click OK. Click Finish to close the Add Targets window.

- Select the check box(es) next to each group that you want to send the task to.

- Expand Settings and select the check box next to Clear Update Cache.

- Expand Summary to review settings for your task. Click Finish when you are finished making changes. Your clients will receive the task the next time they check into ESET Remote Administrator.
Clear the update cache on an individual client workstation
- Open ESET Endpoint Security or ESET Endpoint Antivirus. How do I open my ESET product?
- Press F5 to open Advanced setup.
- Click Update and click Clear next to Clear update cache. Click OK to exit Advanced setup when you are finished.

- Click Update Update now. Your computer should now be able to receive updates.
